Gerald Davies - Managing Director

Founder of both Kymin Financial Services Ltd (Kymin) and The Kymin Partnership Ltd (The Partnership), Gerald has unrivalled experience of advising on investments, gained over 30 years in the Financial world. As Managing Director of Kymin and Chairman of The Partnership, Gerald has three principal roles:-

• Formulating marketing for both firms
• Ensuring that the principle of "Treating Customers Fairly" is embedded in the ethos of both firms
• And, not least, providing a holistic advice service to high net worth clients, many of whom have been with him for over 20 years.

Gerald writes a regular column on financial topics for The South Wales Argus, Newport's daily newspaper and has written for the Bristol Evening Post, the Monmouthshire Beacon and many other periodicals. He has also commented on current affairs on local radio and for BBC television.

Gerald's interests are Walking, Swimming, Sailing, Gardening and Reading – especially history and biographies. He spends as much time as possible walking on the beaches at Tenby in West Wales, where he has a holiday home. He pursues his horticultural interests when he is able to get away to his apartment on Madiera.

Robin Hall - Operations Director

Robin joined the company in June 2005 after being a client for many years. He became Company Secretary in May 2006 and Operations Director in February 2010 of both Kymin Financial Services Ltd and The Kymin Partnership Ltd.

Robin has a BSc Business Administration Degree and is continuing to further his education in Financial Planning to maintain current knowledge of the ever changing profession.

He has a high level of knowledge in many areas of the advisory process and provides valuable support to the smooth running of both businesses.

Robin's interests include walking and camping along with listening to music and socialising with family and friends.

Daniel O'Connell - Stockbroker and Branch Manager (Redmayne-Bentley)

Dan O'Connell heads up our sister company, Redmayne-Bentley Newport, the city's only stockbrokers.  He deals with sharedealing and advisory and discretionary portfolio management for a number of individuals, businesses, charities and trusts.  He is regularly asked to provide comment and analysis for a variety of newspapers and industry publications and also writes a popular monthly column for the South Wales Argus called 'Shares in the City'.  Additionally he has appeared on local and national radio discussing the markets and is a current stockmarket commentator for BBC Radio Wales.

Born and bred in Newport, Dan is a Rotarian with Newport Uskmouth and is Founder and Chairman of the Trustees for a registered charity that supports disadvantaged children.  He is a former Wales Youth Football International who enjoys most sports and travels to his apartment in Spain when time allows.  Dan is a married father of 2 young children who enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.

Simon Aston - Financial Adviser

Simon has been in business with Gerald since 1990 and this year celebrates over 23 years in Financial Services. He specialises in investment advice and company pensions.

Simon lives in Abergavenny and many of his clients are based in the Herefordshire and the Midlands. Keen on all sports, he currently plays badminton at a competitive level and is Chairman of The Herefordshire Badminton Association. He has recently taken up Clay Target Shooting.

Simon Porter - Financial Adviser

Simon was a client of Kymin's before he joined the team in 2003. Born and brought up in Monmouth, where he still lives, he previously worked for Lloyds TSB. He provides advice on our full range of financial products, specialising in investments as well as commercial and residential mortgages.

Keith Poultney – Financial Adviser

Whilst Keith is our latest team member, having joined us in 2010 as a Financial Adviser, he is a Certified Financial Planner and has lived in the area for over 20 years.  Keith has interests in Investments and is also a qualified Stockbroker.  He works closely with our sister operation, the Newport Branch of Redmayne-Bentley Stockbrokers. Keith is keen on amateur dramatics and is presently getting to realise the benefits of being a granddad.

Lee Davies – Financial Adviser

Lee joined the Kymin team in November 2009, after 11 years service with Legal & General working primarily with Investments and Regulatory Compliance.  Now at Kymin, he provides advice on our full range of financial products, dealing primarily in Pensions and Investments.

Lee lives in Cardiff and is a keen outdoor enthusiast, often spending weekends walking, camping or mountain biking.

Wyndham Williams – Financial Adviser

Wyndham joined the Kymin team in December 2010 after running his own business for many years. Wyndham has over 30 years experience in the Financial Services industry and he provides advice on the full range of financial products, but dealing primarily with our corporate clients and specialising in Director and Shareholder Protection.

Chris Taylor - Sales Director

Chris joined Kymin in June 2007, has a BSc Business Administration Degree and brings clear thinking to our client services. Chris maintains a close and confidential working relationship with clients and is continuing to further his education in Financial Planning. Chris has recently been appointed Sales Director, charged with creating and delivering our sales strategy leading to future growth.

Lisa Harry - Private Client Administrator and Paraplanner

Lisa joined the team in December 2002. She provides excellent client support services to both our individual and our Corporate Clients. She is a trainee paraplanner and is currently taking her financial services exams.

Tor Tyrer – Private Client Administrator

Tor is the latest addition to the Client Services Team having joined us in 2010. She is often the first point of contact for telephone calls from clients or visitors to the office. She provides outstanding administrative support to the business as a whole as well excellent client support services.

Deri Hall - Private Corporate Client Administrator

Deri who is Robin's Dad, maintains our efficient centralised filing system and provides the rest of the team with invaluable administration support. The efficient storage and retrieval of so much confidential client information is vital to Treating our Customers Fairly along with the proper running of the business.
