Robin Hall BSc (Hons) DipFA
Managing Director and Financial Planner

Robin joined the company in June 2005 after being a client for many years. He became Company Secretary in May 2006, Operations Director in 2010 and then Managing Director in October 2012. He has a BSc (Hons) Business Administration Degree and attained the Diploma in Financial Advice in 2013.

His expertise covers all aspects of investments, pensions and protection for both individuals and businesses.

Outside of work, Robin enjoys gardening, travelling, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. Robin is also a committee member of The City of Newport Business Club, board member of Newport NOW, the local Business Improvement District for Newport and a Trustee of Newport based charity St David’s Hospice Care.

Simon Aston DipFA
Founder and Financial Planner

Having started in the financial services industry with Commercial Union 1988, Simon was a founder member of Kymin in 1993 and has worked within the company since. Dealing predominantly in the personal investment, corporate and personal pension sectors, he has established long standing relationships with many clients.

On a personal front, Simon is a keen Badminton player, a sport which he has enjoyed competitively since he was a teenager. Simon’s other passion is Clay Pigeon shooting which takes him around the country entering competitions of a weekend. Along with other interests in motor sport, rugby, football and the odd card game he has a reputation for being a bit of a socialite.

Chris Taylor BSc (Hons) DipFA
Director and Financial Planner

Since joining in 2007 Chris has played a leading role in the development of Kymin. He has a vast range of expertise in financial planning and enjoys working with clients to help achieve their financial goals.  He also specialises in Pension and Divorce working closely with local professional firms. 

In his early twenties, he spent five years in night school whilst working full time and achieved an HNC in Accounting and Finance and a Business Administration Degree. In his time at Kymin he has gone from a paraplanning role to Director and Financial Planner. He obtained his Diploma in Financial Advice in 2013.  

Outside of Kymin, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, particularly supporting his daughters athletics journey. He recently completed his UK Athletics coaching assistant qualification.

Paul Morgan IMC DipPFS
Financial Planner

Paul joined Kymin in 2012 and has been a Financial Planner since 1998. Every year he continually strives to build on this to add to his clients’ experience.

Paul is working towards Chartered status and only has a couple of exams left which he hopes to complete over the coming year. Paul took a sidestep from this course recently to acquire the CFA lnvestment Management Certificate (IMC) to gain a deeper understanding of the investment world.

Paul has an interest in classic cars, reading and travel. “I have been very lucky over the years and have visited some exciting countries. Sipping fermented Mares milk in a Yurt in Kyrgyzstan with nomadic people is something I won’t forget in a hurry”.

Della Tew MBA FPFS CERT CII (MP+ER)
Chartered Financial Planner

Della has been in the industry for over 30 years and has achieved Chartered Adviser status together with being awarded a Fellowship of the CII. She advises on all areas of Financial Planning but specialises in ‘Later Life’ Clients.

Having recently moved over to Wales for a bit more space, she is enjoying getting to grips with vegetable growing and chicken keeping.

Della also likes walking and cycling around the countryside.

Steven Jones BSc DipPFS
Financial Planner

Steve started his career with NatWest Bank in 1978 and became a financial adviser with them in 1990. He joined Kymin in 2016 bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience across all areas of financial planning, pensions and investments.

Steve is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener. He also enjoys walking with his partner and their young dog.

Kat Potts DipFA CeFAP MLIBF
Financial Planner

Kat has over 10 years’ experience working in the financial services industry, joining Kymin in 2011 and has been a member of the Paraplanning Team since 2015. She currently holds the Certificate in Financial Administration (CeFAP) exam as well the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) qualification.

Lisa Harry CeFAP
Practice Manager and Paraplanner

Lisa joined Kymin in 2002 under a T2 Skills programme. She heads up the Client Services and Paraplanning Team and, along with Heather, will normally be your first point of contact. Lisa specialises in providing excellent customer service to our clients, from the very first appointment to your annual review. Lisa has qualified in the Certificate in Financial Administration and Planning (CeFAP) exam.

Vicky Barker CeFAP
Paraplanner

Vicky joined Kymin in 2011 and has over 25 years’ experience working within the financial services sector. She has been a valuable member of the Paraplanning team since 2013, who support our Financial Planners in assessing their client’s needs. Vicky has qualified in the Certificate in Financial Administration and Planning (CeFAP) exam.

Thomas Deakin BA (Hons) DipFA
Paraplanner

Tom joined Kymin in 2019 after completing his Accounting and Finance Degree at the University of the West of England. He had spent a year working for Kymin as part of his course and was offered a full time placement on completion of his degree. Since joining fully, Tom has enrolled on the Diploma for Financial Advice course and passed the final exam in late 2020. Tom has already proved himself to be a valuable member of the support team and brings with him new ideas and ways of working.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys football and films and spending time with his family and friends.

Tom Fidler DipFA
Paraplanner

Tom came to us originally for work experience in 2018 where we were very pleased with his diligence. Following university Tom has since joined us full time and has recently attained his Diploma for Financial Advice qualification. He has high expectations of himself and plans to become chartered in the future. Tom’s ability to problem solve and engage with clients has really proven him to be a valued member of our team.

Tom is an avid gym goer and he also enjoys long walks in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park with his dogs as well as relaxing with friends and family.

Heather Hughes
Client Services

Heather joined Kymin in 2011 and has over 30 years’ experience within the financial services industry. She is a valuable member of the Client Services Team and will normally be your first point of contact on the phone or when visiting our offices, as well as assisting clients with servicing queries. Heather also provides support to our group scheme administrators and individual members.
